HELP Our site has been optimized for Internet Explorer (Microsoft - IE) with javascript and cookies allowed. How to install TZLviewer How to see the enlarged silhouettes How to play on line How to play off line How to look at the solutions How to remember your favored silhouettes What is a tzl file How to install TZLviewer |top| You need the TZLviewer freeware to look at the silhouettes in the tzl file format. 1 - Go to the download page. 2 - Click on the setup download button and follow the instructions. How to see the enlarged silhouettes |top| 0 - You need the TZLviewer freeware to look at the silhouettes in the tzl file format, otherwise they will be shown as an useless sequence of characters and digits. 1 - Click ONLY ONCE on the icon of the silhouette you like. 2 - Download it. How to play on line |top| 1 - After visualizing the chosen silhouette through TZLviewer, check the set (e.g. Tangram) as reported in the top left side of the Notes window. 2 - Click on the menu Play and chose the corresponding set. 3 - The pieces of the corresponding set will be displayed in a new page. Move and turn them, following the instructions over there. The main target of the game is trying to reproduce the silhouette using all the pieces. Do not let them overlapping! How to play off line |top| The applet to play on line is quite simplified and it is based on javascript. We suggest to download and use the freeware Tanzzle for full options (e.g the pieces cannot overlap). As an alternative to play at the computer, you can build the pieces by yourself. Click on one figure in the head of our site. Print the set you like and cut the pieces. How to look at the solutions |top| At last, if you cannot picture how the silhouette is made, chose the menu View/Display/Wireframe in TZLviewer. How to remember your favored silhouettes |top| If you allow cookies, you can put your favored silhouettes in a clipboard, to easily recover them in the next visits. Clicking on one silhouette icon, the tzl file will open and the icon will be displayed in the 'selected silhouette' box on the right side of the screen. If you like to remember that silhouette, just click on that box. So doing, the silhouette icon will display in the 'my silhouettes' list, thanks to the cookies. The icons in the 'my silhouettes' list are the same as those in the pages of the site. Therefore, by clicking you can look at the enlarged figure in TZLviewer. What is a tzl file |top| The tzl format file contains the instructions to build the pattern. Referring to the figure below, on the bottom right side an example of silhouette is reported, as seen by TZLviewer. The correponding tzl file, as seen by Notepad, is reported on the top. It looks like a sequence of digits. In particular, the underlined sets of nine digits describe how two pieces are connected each other. For instance, the first set (133413100) indicates how the square (piece n.1) is connected to the medium triangle (piece n.4), matching the vertex n.3 and the vertex n. 1 of the square and of the triangle, respectively, and matching the edge n.3 and the edge n.3 of the square and of the triangle, respectively, as shown.
